Best AI Stocks to Buy Now: 8 Artificial Intelligence Stocks to Watch for Investors in 2026

Our list of the best ai stocks to buy now starts with the companies whose revenue is growing fastest from AI spending: Nvidia, Broadcom, TSMC, Micron and AMD. Each reported AI-driven growth of 40% to over 300% year over year in its latest quarter. Alphabet, Microsoft and Palantir round out the list as the strongest AI platform and software plays.

The reason is simple. Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon and Meta plan to spend about $735 billion on capital expenditure in 2026, up roughly 79% from 2025, according to the ValueAdd VC capex tracker. Most of that money flows to AI data centers, and the best ai stocks below collect the largest share of it.

How We Picked These AI Stocks

There are hundreds of companies involved with artificial intelligence, but few earn real money from it yet. We focused on three questions for every stock:

  1. Is AI already in the numbers? We looked at reported revenue, not promises.
  2. Is growth accelerating? Guidance for the next quarter had to point up.
  3. Who pays the company? Selling to hyperscalers and leading AI labs such as OpenAI is a sign of durable demand.

We also flag the main risk for each name. This is the same evidence-first approach Clear Report uses for its AI Rating, which scores every ticker from 0 to 100 and links each signal to its source.

Figures come from each company's latest quarterly results release.

AI Chip and AI Hardware Leaders

AI hardware is where the money shows up first. Every new AI model needs GPUs or custom chips, memory and fast networking.

1. Nvidia: Still the Core AI Stock

Nvidia reported revenue of $96.2 billion for the quarter ended July 26, 2026, up 106% year over year. Data center revenue alone reached $89.0 billion, and gross margin held at 75%.

Guidance points higher again: about $108 billion for the next quarter, without any data center compute sales to China. With a market cap of about $5.1 trillion, NVDA is now the world's most valuable company.

Risk: Nvidia depends on a handful of hyperscalers. Export rules also matter; see our note on new limits on AI chip exports to China.

2. Broadcom: The Custom AI Chip Winner

Broadcom designs custom AI accelerators for companies that want an alternative to Nvidia. Q3 fiscal 2026 revenue rose 86% to $29.6 billion, and it expects AI semiconductor revenue of $21.7 billion in Q4.

Its customers read like a list of the AI arms race: Google's TPUs, Anthropic, Meta and OpenAI, whose first custom chip shipped this quarter. Management sees about $115 billion in AI revenue in 2027.

Risk: a few giant customers make up most of AI sales.

3. TSMC: The Factory Behind Every AI Chip

Taiwan Semiconductor makes the cutting-edge chips for Nvidia, AMD, Broadcom and Apple. Q3 2026 revenue rose 41.2% to $46.72 billion, and net profit jumped 68.7%.

High-performance computing now makes up 68% of revenue. CEO C.C. Wei said AI chip demand still exceeds what TSMC can supply.

Risk: geopolitics around Taiwan.

4. Micron: AI Memory in Short Supply

AI servers need huge amounts of high-bandwidth memory. Micron's fiscal Q4 2026 revenue reached $54.23 billion, up from $11.32 billion a year earlier, with a gross margin of 86.8%. It guides to about $61.5 billion next quarter.

That is well over $50 billion in a single quarter for a company that brought in about $37 billion in revenue in all of fiscal 2025. We explain the background in our article on the AI boom and the memory chip shortage.

Risk: memory is a cyclical semiconductor business, and prices can fall as fast as they rose.

5. Advanced Micro Devices: The Second GPU Source

AMD's Q2 2026 revenue reached a record $11.5 billion. Data center sales more than doubled to $6.7 billion and now make up 58% of the total.

Its MI400 series started shipping, and its Helios rack systems are being deployed by AI labs, including OpenAI. AMD guides Q3 revenue to about $13 billion.

Risk: Nvidia still dominates the software ecosystem developers use.

AI Infrastructure and Cloud Platforms

The hyperscalers rent AI computing power to everyone else, so their cloud growth is a direct read on AI demand.

  • Alphabet. Google Cloud revenue rose 82% to $24.8 billion in Q2 2026. Alphabet also designs its own TPU chips and builds Gemini AI models, which gives it a full stack of AI products and services.
  • Microsoft. Azure grew 43% in constant currency and passed $100 billion in annual revenue. Its partnership with OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, keeps it central to enterprise AI.
  • Meta. It is not a cloud seller, but it plans $135–145 billion of capex in 2026 to train large language models and improve AI-powered ad targeting.

The catch is cost. These companies must prove that AI investments earn more than they cost to build and run.

AI Software: Palantir

Software is where AI applications reach end users. Palantir is the clearest example so far: Q2 2026 revenue rose 93% to $1.94 billion, and US commercial revenue grew 149%.

It raised full-year guidance to about $8.15 billion and posted a 55% GAAP net margin. The concern is valuation: PLTR trades at a very high multiple of sales, so any slowdown could hit the share price hard.

AI Stocks to Watch Next

Several smaller or newer names could join the list if their results confirm the trend:

  • AI networking and optical connection suppliers that link GPUs inside data centers;
  • power and cooling companies building data center infrastructure;
  • AI cloud providers that rent GPUs to startups;
  • AI ETFs for investors who prefer a basket over single stocks.

These are ai stocks to watch rather than core holdings, because their earnings history is shorter.

Investing in AI: Single Stocks or a Basket?

There are two ways of investing in ai, and each suits a different investor.

  • Single stocks give the most upside if you pick the winners, but one bad quarter can cut a share price by 20% or more.
  • A basket or ETF smooths the ride. You accept average returns in exchange for less stock-specific risk.

A practical middle path is to hold two or three leaders from different layers of the AI stack: one chip designer, one manufacturer and one platform. For example, a chip stock like Nvidia, a manufacturer like TSMC and a cloud platform like Alphabet react to different risks. If you want the best ai stocks to buy for a long holding period, focus on companies with proven cash flow rather than early AI promises.

Whatever you choose, size each position so that a sharp drop won't force you to sell.

Risks of Investing in AI

AI is the dominant theme in tech, but the risks are real:

  1. Spending cycles. By one estimate cited by Yahoo Finance, hyperscalers now spend about 102% of their cloud revenue on capex. If AI returns disappoint, orders for chips can drop sharply.
  2. Concentration. A handful of hyperscalers buy most AI hardware.
  3. Valuations. Some AI stocks price in years of growth.
  4. Policy. Export controls and tariffs can cut off large markets quickly.

Many newsletters promote a ""latest top 10 list"" of the ""10 best stocks for investors to buy"" and quote a total average return. Such lists rarely show why each stock made the cut today. Before you act on any list of ai stocks to buy, including ours, check the current numbers.
